Ginger Juice is a brilliant addition to rice water. It provides an impressive trio of warmth, flavour and health to ho-hum white rice.
220g short grain white rice, rinsed
- 15ml (such as avocado or extra virgin olive oil)
1/2 teaspoon salt
- Combine all the ingredients in a rice cooker and cook until done. If cooking on the stove, place all the ingredients in a pot. Cover the pot and bring to a boil, then turn down the heat to low. Let the rice gently simmer for about 20 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it stand covered for 5-10 minutes. Fluff with a fork.
So easy, I love it!
